Jeremy Carter has established a reputation as one of the most versatile and sensitive of his generation of British pianists.
Whilst studying at the Royal Academy of Music his teachers included the late Gordon Green, Christopher Elton and Alexander Kelly. He won all the Academy's major prizes and scholarships and on leaving he was awarded the Academy's highest accolade, the Recital Diploma, together with the Chappell gold medal for outstanding performance. He then studied privately with Benjamin Kaplan and with Helena Costa in Austria as well as participating in masterclasses with Tamas Vasary and Horszowski. Prizes at a number of major international piano competitions followed.
"Jeremy Carter showed off a technique of striding power and well-knitted strength...and revealed an awareness of his instrument's shifting timbres." The Times
